在今年2月底时，名嘴香农-夏普在节目中曾谈到了湖人季后赛可能和雷霆的对位。

夏普表示：“不管是OKC（雷霆），KFC，或者UFC，湖人对上5场内就能解决。当卢卡像那样打球时，我们什么都无所谓。勒布朗-詹姆斯，还有卢卡-东契奇，湖人5场内搞定。”夏普说道。

最终湖人常规赛排名西部第三，首轮面对森林狼1-4被绅士横扫。
